First Time User Guide

Registering your details with Cookson Dental

To be able to get the most from Cookson Dental as a first time user, we recommend that you register your details with us.

Registering with Cookson Dental is easy. Just click on the Register tab and complete the simple application form.

You will be asked for your email address, password* and birthplace (this is used to verify your account if you contact us). In addition to this, we will also ask for your address, contact telephone number, confirmation of your business type.

Once completed click the register button and within minutes you will receive confirmation of your account details.

* Please ensure that your password does not contain any special characters such as ! & £ $.

I have registered, what do I do now?

Once you have registered, you will be able to view all of Cookson Dental features and benefits; this includes placing your very first order.

To start, please ensure you are logged into your account. If you need to log in, just click on the 'Register/ log in' button on the top tab of the home page, enter your email address and password and away you go.

I am logged into my account, how do I find what I am looking for?

Once you have logged in, you can now start putting together your shopping basket. If you know what you are looking for, you can type the details into the search box on the top of the page.

For example, if you are looking for Prostone Diestone 20kg Tub, enter this into the search box, click enter and the search results will come up with Prostone Diestone 20kg Tub plus other related products.

Or alternatively you can search for products via our category section, which can be found on the left hand side of the web page. These are listed in alphabetical order.

For example, if you want to browse through our Burs and Cutters, in particular our Carbide Burs, click on the Burs and Cutters category. On the next menu page, click Carbide Burs and then the search results will show all ourCarbide Burs for you to browse through.

I have found a product I am looking for, how do I add this to my basket?

Once you have found a product you are looking for, you can now add this to your shopping basket.

Enter the quantity you require and simply click on 'Add to Basket' your item will now appear in your basket.

If you want to add certain alloy products (such as anodes, wire, strip, etc) to your basket, you will need to add the dimensions first.

For example, to add fine silver anodes to your basket, enter the width and length. To change the unit of measurements click on the arrow button and select one of the following options: mm, cm, mt, in and ft. Click 'Update' and then 'Add to Basket'. The item will then successfully appear in your shopping basket.

I have put my shopping basket together, what do I do now?

Once you have put together your shopping basket, you can now go to checkout.

Click on 'My Shopping Basket', you will then see a list of the items you are ordering plus the order value, postage and packing charges* and total order value.

Amend the postage to the delivery service you require. We can ship your goods using a variety of different methods such as Royal Mail, DHL, Secure Mail (now known as DX Group), TNT and Fed Ex.

* Important Note: The postage costs will vary depending on the weight & value of your goods so please look at the postage charge once you have completed your shopping basket, this will provide you with an accurate postage options/ charges.

* Important Note: Some prices will only be an approximate for example or dental alloys. Prices will be subject to change due to the metal fix and once the order has been prepped and weighed. We will email you with confirmation of the exact price, once your order has been prepped and invoiced.

OK, I have selected the postage method I want, how do I pay?

Once you have selected the postage method, click on the checkout button. It will then take you to payment stage.

Make sure you click that you have read the terms and conditions, once confirmed you will then see the payment screen.

Enter your payment details as instructed e.g. name on card, full card number, valid from and expiry date, issue number (if applicable) and security code.

Don't panic, shopping at Cookson Dental is secure. Our secure server encrypts your credit and debit card details.

Once you have confirmed your card details, your order will be placed.*

* Important note: To ensure your order is despatched the same day, make sure you place your order before 3pm.

My order has been placed, is there anything more I need to do?

No, there is nothing else you will need to do. You will receive a confirmation email to say that your order has successfully been placed with us.

Your order will then be prepped, packed and invoiced. Once it has been despatched, you will receive an email to confirm this.

If you placed your order before 3pm, your order will be despatched the same day. Depending on the method selected, you could get your goods the next day!
